Platinum resistance temperature detectors
Platinum resistance temperature detectors
Platinum chip temperature sensors are based on a temperature-dependent resistor, the curve and permissible tolerance of which is defined in the international standard DIN EN 60751. They combine the favourable properties of a platinum temperature sensor with the advantages of large-scale production. They are distinguished by standardization and universal interchangeability as well as by high measuring accuracy, excellent long-term stability and good reproducibility of the electrical properties. The price level has also fallen considerably in the last few years for larger quantities of demand. Platinum chip temperature sensors therefore also represent a real alternative to semiconductor-based thermistors.
